At the heart of any plating shop or system is the plating. Once the surfaces are treated, the real work of applying the material to the surface begins. Whether electroplating or electroless, the metal being applied needs to be of the utmost quality. Zinc Alloy Series
This family of alloy zinc plating systems offers superior corrosion resistance never before available in a zinc plating process. Combined with the BriteGuard Protective System, deposits can withstand up to 10 times the corrosion resistance of conventional zinc. The Zincalloy Processes are available in zinc/cobalt, zinc/iron, and zinc/nickel formulations. All Zincalloy baths are easy to use, easy to control and easy to chromate.

Alternatives to cyanide cadmium plating

Cad Glo AC
A cyanide-free, bright, high performance acid cadmium plating process. Cad Glo AC operates in both rack and barrel appellations without solvents or chelating agents. Hydrogen embrittlement is low and the deposit readily accepts the full range of chromate conversion coatings. Difficult to plate metals, such as stainless steel, can often be plated directly in Cad Glo AC.

A high performance, near-neutral, cyanide-free cadmium plating process. Cad Glo NC’s low metal formulation further reduces contamination of rinses with heavy metals. Chromate receptivity is excellent and hydrogen embrittlement is low.

Many are supplied as single additive, aldehyde-free maintenance brighteners or multi-component systems for installations that require this type of plating flexibility.

Features the newest leader in alkaline non-cyanide zinc plating, ABZ-470 Zinc Technology. This aldehyde-free, non-sulfur system offers mirror bright, uniform, lustrous, blister-free, ductile, super fine-grained deposits. These deposits exhibit better throwing and covering power than previously available. The organic compounds contained in ABZ-470 Zinc Technology are cleaner and more stable, thus it markedly improves the low current density throwing power of the electrolyte. This results resulting in super-bright ultra-low current density areas without the use of auxiliary anodes. This process also features wide operating perimeters and high temperature tolerance while vastly increasing productivity.

New plating systems that are a true advancement in the science of chloride zinc plating. These processes offer super bright, lustrous, ductile, fine-grained deposits without burning, staining or whiting out. This unique, technologically advanced formulation is designed to provide uniform deposit distribution similar to that of alkaline baths. Formulations are designed to take advantage of the mixed potassium/ammonium or pure potassium formulation of chloride electrolyte. Systems provide a cleaner organic surface, thus deposits accept chromates more readily than competitive processes, also this cleaner organic formulation provides substantially superior salt spray results. Houghto – Prep ZP3 is a completely biodegradable cleaner and self – limiting coating for ferrous, aluminum, and other non – ferrous components in preparation for paint and other organic coatings. Houghto – Prep ZP3 cleans and coats faster for short dwell times. The Houghto – Prep ZP3 displaces surface soils/oils and using an efficient proprietary zirconium phosphate chemistry, producing an amorphous coating that promotes paint adhesion and salt spray resistance.

Keykote 36 is a liquid concentrate zinc phosphate that can be applied by immersion or flood systems to produce very heavy, extremely fine grained, high quality phosphate coatings on2a wide variety of steel alloys. Coating weights between 2,000 and 4,500 mg/ft (21.5 – 48.5 g/m2) can be easily obtained on low carbon steels such as 1010, and coating weights between 1,800 and 5,400 mg/ft2 (19.4 – 58 g/m2) can be obtained on high-strength, low alloy steels such as 4130.

EnDURE ZNH-4000 is a highly concentrated liquid designed to produce a fine grained zinc phosphate coating on a wide variety of substrates ranging from low carbon steels (coating weights of 1000 to in excess of 4000 mg/ft 2 ) to low alloy, high strength tool steel s (coating weights of 1000 to > 4000 mg/ft 2 ). The unique fine grained crystal structure has excellent capacity for holding oils to provide both corrosion resistance and lubricity.

PHOSHIELD MN is a unique manganese phosphate process formulated to provide a heavy manganese phosphate on ferrous surfaces. It produces a uniform porous deposit with coating weights in up to 5000 ml/ft2. PHOSHIELD MN produces a phosphate coating suitable for providing corrosion protection and lubricity on a wide variety of parts as well as a base for solid film lubricants; for break in, anti-wear and anti-scuffing applications such as piston rings, liners camshafts, tappets, clutches, motor block and similar surfaces. It is also ideal as a lubricant carrier for tube and wire drawing.
